Shopping

What is a consignment sale?
When a person or company sells your items on your behalf in exchange for a commission it is called consignment. You are consigning with us for a 5 day period of time (versus a longer period in a store).

Are children allowed at the sale?
We do allow children at the sale, however, we caution against bringing them if at all possible. The sale will be crowded and there is a lot of opportunity for children to lose site of a parent.

What methods of payment will you accept?
We will accept cash visa and master card only at this sale.

Who is eligible to shop the preview Sale?
Volunteers, Consignors, Day Care Workers and First Time Moms are permitted to shop the Pre-Sale Spectacular. Each category will have a specified shift in which they can shop and they are allowed to bring 1 guest.

Am I permitted to bring a basket, bag or stroller to fill while I shop?
You are welcome to bring a basket (laundry or other), box/bin or any bag that would not be mistaken for a shopping bag (beach, mesh or towel bags work best).

Consigning

How much will I earn on my items?
You will earn 70% on all of your sold items (less a $15.00 consignor fee). Items are offered at full price Wednesday thru Friday. We offer a half off sale on Saturday. You are NOT required to sell your items at the half price sale. See consignor information pages for more information.

Why should I consign my items with Kidz Shoppe rather than a garage sale?
A common misconception people have is that they can make just as much money selling their kid's items at a garage sale rather than consigning them. Kidz Shoppe offers two major advantages over garage sales. First, we offer hundreds of items in all different categories all under one roof. A person would have to shop garage sales all year to find what they will find at one of our events. The second advantage is quality. We inspect all items prior to putting them on the sales floor. People know they will find quality, name-brand items at our sale. People are willing to pay a little more for quality, name-brand items they will know they will find in excellent condition.

Is there a limit to the number of items I may consign?
No. There is no limit to the number of items you may consign. We reserve the right to limit the number of identical items if space becomes limited. We accept items on a first-come-first-serve basis, and they must meet the acceptance policy of Kidz Shoppe. There is however a minimum of 20 accepted items to participate in the sale.

Do I have to pick up my items after the sale?
Yes, but only if you want them back. Otherwise your items will be donated to local families in need. If you would like more information on our donation program please contact Amy.

By what time on Sunday to items have to be picked up?
Consignors should arrange to pick up anything that should not be donated. Pick up any time on Sunday between 10am and 2 pm. Items left after 2 pm become the property of Kidz Shoppe and will be donated. If you cannot come to to pick-up during the scheduled time, and you do NOT want your items donated you will need to make arrangements with a friend or family member to pick-up your unsold items along with your sale profits. Please send a note with your friend confirming that they are to pick-up your items and note your consignor id#.

When will I receive payment for my sold items?
Payment will be ready during our Unsold Item Pick-Up.

What if I find that an item is missing?
We will do our best to keep tabs on every item that comes through our doors. However, we cannot be held responsible for items lost before, during or after the sold.

Item Preparation

Where do I get the pricing tags?
Kidz Shoppe will supply you with a tag template which you may download. Our tag template may be found in our item tagging information section.

Am I required to use Kidz Shoppe's tag template?
No. You may download and print our tag template or complete a 3 x 5 index card with the required information in the required format.

Does my clothing have to be on a hanger?
Yes. All clothing must be dropped off to us on a WIRE hanger. One item or set per hanger.

What will happen to my items if the tag comes off during the sale?
We will NOT sell any item without an attached tag. Items with missing tags will be placed in a "lost and found" that consignors can access during the sale or at pick-up.

Volunteering

Do I have to volunteer in order to consign?
No. You will still earn your Pre-Sale Spectacular sale privileges.

Do I have to volunteer to pick-up my unsold items?
No. Kidz Shoppe consignors are encouraged to volunteer, however, they are not required to volunteer in order to pick up their unsold merchandise.

May I bring my children with me during my shift?
No. It will be too difficult for you to work and watch the little ones at the same time. Plus, it is too hard to keep the little ones away from all of the wonderful toys.

What days/times are available to volunteer?
Please contact a Kidz Shoppe organizer for available days and shifts.

Do I have to be a consignor in order to volunteer?
No. You do not have to be a consignor to volunteer at the sale. We welcome the help and will reward you with an extra early Pre-Sale Spectacular shopping pass.
